i don't know if any of you have seen this, but cnnmoney has ranked nursing as the number 2
best profession for the young and restless to go into. number 1 was product/brand manager. nursing also took the top 20
for parents returning to work.
cnnmoney describes you as young & restless if:
you've been in the job long enough to know what you want: more pay, more upside and more control over where you're going.
parents returning to work:
you traded working lunches for pta meetings and pb&js. now you want a challenging job that can bend to make room for family life.
directly from the site:
talk about a guaranteed job: the bureau of labor statistics expects demand for nurses to be way above average for all occupations through 2014. you can specialize in a variety of areas and work in settings frommajor hospitals to patients' homes. if you've got management experience, you can move into administration.
this is all good news for me.
i was a liberal arts major.
cnnmoney also said this:
liberal arts majors, on the other hand, may not have the banner year they did last year, as early numbers suggest a dip in starting salaries for those majoring in english and art history (my old major). as of february, the average starting salary for liberal arts majors is $30,502 (
), down 1.1 percent from last year, according to nace.
