We are interested in starting a Nursing Recruitment & Retention Committee at our hospital to address the nursing shortage and keep the great nurses we have.
Does anyone belong to such a group?
Who are the members of the group?
Any pointers on being successful in this endevor?

Your first step is to have the hospital recognize that there is a problem with both nurse recruitment and retention. Significant amounts of capital mut be made available. The committee to be successful must include senior management ,not only from nursing but also from finance and human resources. Without this level of commitment from the begining success is doubtful.
RN's will go to and stay at those institutions that treat the with respect, recognize Nursing's contribution and reward RN's according to their professional responsibilities.
