Are there any good magazines that are nursing related? If so, what are their titles and subscription rates, and are there any websites that I can go to for them?

Thanks,

One I really like and it's free is Advance for Nurses.

http://www.advancefornurses.com/

It's a regional (different editions depending on your state) trade magazine but it really has some good articles.

I also take Nursing 2003. I can't find the address right now.

Another online resource that's free is Medline. http://www.medscape.com/px/urlinfo

Welcome and good luck with your decision.

I like the American Journal of Nursing (AJN). I dont know what it costs - It comes as part of my ANA membership.

Most hospitals and nursing schools have their own subscriptions to several nursing journals. You can stop by their libraries and check out some past issues of all the different ones & see which you like best before you subscribe.

there are many

I take Nursing 2003, RN and as a member of AWHONN, receive magazines that go w/my membership. I also am an ANA member and get their journal. It is helpful to read journals to keep your career energized and yourself updated. Things change literally everyday in nursing.

Hi.

Was reading the thread and tried to get the Advance for Nurses P_RN mentioned. But guess what? My zip code area is not eligible ! It would be for the LPN version of the mag, but not for the RN version. Don't get it.

Sooooo.. I get the RN mag already, but wanted to get another one as well. You all mentioned Nursing 2003. Anyone have an addy to subscribe?

Thanx ! :)

You can recieve most of the Advance for Nurses RN online. My zip code is ineligible as well, and this works just as well for me.

I get Nursing 2003, as it has the most comprehensive overview of trends in all areas of nursing.

The American Journal of Nursing, that is part of my ANA dues. This is mostly a scholarly journal, that has a lot of research based information in it, IMHO.

The Critical Care Nurse that is a part of my AACN dues. That again is more a scholarly journal.

Nursingmatters for my state.

Medscape online for nurses.

By going to nursing conventions, it is a great way to pick up free literature, and finding a magazine for you.

I get RN, Nursing 2003, AJN and the two magazines that come with my AACN membership. I like Nursing 2003 the best followed by RN and AJN. The website for Nursing 2003 is http://www.lww.com .

I dopped my ANA membership when I quit my last nursing job.

Check out an older thread "website", a few blessed souls shared their finds. It has nursing sites, journals, CE's and a whole lot more. Can't remember the exact title but check the student forum as well.

Thank you all for your replies. I have also tried the Advance for Nurses, but wasn't in the right regional area. Oh well. I will try some of the others you guys gave. Sarah, Is that older thread here on the bb? I'll check. Thanks again, I really appreciate it!
