Nurses, are you losing control?

by crosby

Are you losing control of where all the "stuff"(equipment, chairs, computers, etc.) is being placed in the Pt room? Do you wish you had more control of where it all goes?

The computers and monitors are mounted in a fixed place. Most everything else can be moved.
I move the trash cans so that one is beside the supply cart since I unwrap everything there and can put wrappers right into the trash cans.
I keep the little trashcan across the room in case I need it there.
The chairs I place where they are out of the walkway.
Unless a piece of equipment is built in, I feel free to move things around to make a room more usable.
The rooms are our workspaces.

I move everything around to where I want it. Heck, sometimes I move everything around just to give my brain a break from looking at the same set ups day in day out. Feng Shui, right? (of course only for my patients who couldn't care less either way, not the ones that are OOB by themselves.)
