Nurses Week

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I am thinking about the profession of nursing and the wonderful, empathetic, intelligent, spirited, forward thinking and knowledge seeking (through advanced education, seminars and collaboration) nurses I know. I am thinking about health care and the barriers to nursing care. I am thinking about the nurses who choose to stay at the bedside and are in the midst of the heart of where nursing is. I am thinking about the nurses who choose to become nurse practitioners or go into management or education to support those nurses at the bedside and whom never lose sight of the true meaning of nursing care.

Nursing is a profession that uses every part of who a person is at the core. It is a profession that will hone in on challenges within the soul and dare a nurse to face those challenges to become a stronger nurse and person. To face and succeed at this challenge is to bring a brighter world to a nurse's life and perspective on what is important in life. It is forever-evolving and never completed...

People choose different paths in life and that is a beautiful thing, I find so much beauty in the path of choosing to become a nurse. I have a deep passion for this profession and a profound respect for those who choose this profession. I have found my place in this world. Nursing has not only given me a strong purpose within this world, but the most beautiful people whom I call my friends.

In the spirit of Florence Nightingale, Rather, ten times, die in the surf, heralding the way to a new world, than stand idly on the shore.”

Happy Nurses Week to my fellow nurses!

This includes all of the beautiful people choosing to go into the nursing profession.
