Good morning ALLNURSES FAMILY!
I have concern regarding giving resgination notice to my work? It is okay to quit even my Nurse Manager is on vacation? I'm a Lead Clinical Nurse in a ambulatory outpatient unit where I also work closely with Site Manager (but she's not a nurse) which also my supervisor. I know I should give my resignation to my Site Manager? But I'm worried to quit coz my Quality RN Manager is out of the office, even though I'm not reporting to him everyday? He's still my manager in clinical/nursing part and Site Manager is my acting supervisor during at work.
And to my resignation? How many weeks should I give them? is 2 weeks enough or 3 weeks since I work with them for almost 2 years under clinical leadership job.

At least two weeks....
when I had leadership roles as tho it sounds you do
four weeks notice is professionally generous ....

The person who does your performance evaluations is your manager, and for a nurse, that person generally has to be a nurse.
If it were me, I'd try to wait until my manager returned to turn in my resignation with a 2 week notice.
It really depends on your circumstances, though and the urgency of your situation.

Sometimes you can't wait.
Someone is covering for him while he is on vacation, give it to that person.
Also, you must have a human resource department, contact them and find out how much notice you have to give for your position.
Give a copy of your resignation notice to the covering boss and to human resources at the same time.

Check your organization ''s policy. Leadership usually is 4 weeks.
