and to chris-fnp you are right...

i did fly off the handle but that wasnt my 1st intention.. my 1st visit to this board as you can amagine was shocking, madning and i guess nieve of me to think that all nurses were treated equal without predjudice, i have learned this isnt so..i would like to say that lpns are valued for there abilities and respected in the state of oklahoma and i am truely glad that i live here ...i can also vouch for california because i am a transplanted lpn from calif...and they are lpn friendly there also.. i have also seen suzy k counterdict herself in her responses and still think she has nothing to add to the nursing profession until she aquires some more experience!!!it takes some longer to realize that they are no better.. she also said ( like i said i admire lpns ) how can you admire and cutdown lpns at the same time ??? oh well it doesnt matter maybe she will learn something from this debate..THE BOSS

And just who made YOU the boss?! I can't believe you actually said that she has nothing to add to the nursing profession until she gets more experience. You have alot of nerve. I'm glad your not my boss with that kind of attitude! If I were a nursing student right now, you would scare me outta wanting to join the ranks of people like you! We all have something to add to our profession. Suzy merely was seeking some info. I've been a nurse for 9 years and STILL don't fully understand ALL the differences between LPNs/RNs and I don't think it's out of line to post the question. Cut her a break already and drop it. Those of you who have made such a big deal about this really need to chill out. If you keep posting on this very tired subject, it'll only keep it going. Let it die a peaceful death for mercy's sake!

I am SO much biting my tongue right now....let me tell you, to those who know me this is pretty damn hard.

You're right, "Boss" I did learn something. This "debate" as you called it is over and what I did gain from it had absolutely NOTHING to do with you. Good luck in your nursing career and I sure hope, for everyone's sake, you find some happiness.

I was asked by a DR once why I didn't just go to med school. I told him that I don't like most of the DR's I know and I wouldn't want to become something I can't stand. I'm an RN by the way.

Suzy, I don't think you were being nasty. Just thought you would like some support. I'm glad you asked a question I've always wanted to, but didn't for fear of the hostility exhibited in this thread. Thanks to all of you who answered her question without berating her.

Kday thank you!

You have no idea how "Boss's" comments hurt me - well maybe you do! It's sad how we have to tiptoe around these insults, but somehow we pay a hefty price for questioning certain people on their career path - and that is somehow acceptable!

It's comments like hers above that make me hate the nursing profession, and incidently, is why my husband, with a BSN, choose to never practice nursing at all. He doesn't see this kind of behavior in his line of work at all.

But kday, it's comments like yours that make me realize that 1) I'm not going insane and 2) all nurses don't always practice the old ageism thing....

Thanks. smile.gif
