I am moving to Leesburg,FL in Sept this year, I hope some one in my new town can show me the rope. I am an RN (ADN), 7 years of working, always have 2 jobs, Kindred hospital and Long term care. In Chicago area, ADN like me face tough time to get in hospital, most want BSN. I know FL pay scale is a lot less. In Chicago- New grad can get from 25 to 27.00 depends on hosp or nursing home. I would like to working hosp more due to LTC has many issues like: Do more for same pay and strictly no OT. The worst is annual state visit, it make everyone nuts. I plan to get BSN one day, hoping that my new employer would help with tuition reimbursement. at least some. I can't wait to be in FL this winter. Thanks.

try Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares and LRMC in Leesburg for starters. How long of a drive do you want to make? I live very close to that area.....

Welcome! Summers are very very hot as you`ll no doubt find out. Starts getting cooler mid-October  Any other questions? Not sure what the pay is now though...

In Chicago I spend over 2 and 30 minutes each day for 30 miles each way. The city is too crowned. Do I apply on line and then wait , Can I call for follow up?, Do people go to hospitals and ask for an application any more?. I don't mind the drive, the pay is what ever market offers. I just can wait to start my new life near my family. Thanks mc3.

I would also try south lake those are the nearest I live in Leesburg majority all application is online but I would also call there are job postings for all 3 hospitals

There's also a new hospital north of The Villages but I can't remember the name. Do you remember jasmine? LRMC has two campuses, one in Leesburg and one in The Villages. Traffic here is nothing like Chicago, but when the snowbirds come it can be a challenge at times! I came from Boston 9 years ago and I love it here! Good luck and welcome!

Thanks MC3 and Jasmine. I fell welcome already. Very excited to new city, just wonder how long I must live there so I can call people up north " Snowbirds". I am not even there yet and I call it home. Thanks again.

I think the hospital name is central Florida health and alliance. Chpham you may notice when you get down that it seems extremely busy but once spring and summer gets here its slow.

I honestly think even the snow birds call themselves snowbirds lol. Good luck!
