New grad: take on two jobs?

  1. I will be a new grad in December, I have a job already when I graduate but have been thinking about applying part time in the facility that I precepted in. Any advice on doing this or not doing this?

Most places will only hire new graduates full time. As a new employee with no experience, you're unlikely to convince anyone to work around your second job, give you time off for orientation, etc. Find your footing at job #1 and then decide if you want to work 24/7 while your life passes you by.

Personally I would take at least 6 months to get settled in one job before thinking about another. Learning one job at a time is stressful enough. Also, if you can manage overtime at a job that will pay better than two jobs.
