My first interview after passing nclex

by nap12

I just want everyone that can, pray for the hospital interviewing me on Friday to make it happen. I have applied for every hospital in my State, spoke and got rejected to most of the HR recruiters over the past 3 months, made various phone calls without any return call backs, filled and faxed hundreds of applications, and finally I convinced one hospital to interview me this Friday " She said with no promise though". I want everyone to pray that the promise comes true because I know I worked very hard and I have done practically everything I could. Thank you for all your support in advance.

PS
I financial and mentally I cannot do this any longer. I am a smart person who worked very hard for years and now I want the pay off. I graduated top ten in my class as well. I think I deserve something.

This is scary to me! I am about to start my prereqs to try to get in nursing school. It's very discouraging to hear that you graduated in the top 10 and can't get a job. Why do you think this is? What in the world is this critical nursing shortage about then?

I just graduated too and will start looking for a job as soon as I passed the boards. This scares me. Don't worry you'll get a job just keep praying. I'll pray for you too. Goodluck!

Don't wait until you pass, start applying now. I graduated last May and still haven't found a job yet. though I do have interviews lined up. Trust me on this, and I started applying before graduation.

Yes, I will pray for you and good luck!

To Shasta 12:
The new grads that were hired at our hospital were the ones who worked as techs on their vacations and the students who did their clinicals/preceptorships there. Keep that in mind when you choose your clinical sites/teachers.

The only way to help is to explain how and what people are doing to look for a position. I expanded my boyfriends network and I'm still waiting on any contacts he has. Does anyone have any tips? Recuriters? Headhunters? HR contacts?

I think there's a hiring freeze everywhere or at least in many hospitals. I got hired with no problem after graduation as a GN but i failed my boards the 1st time. Went to work as a PCA and took the nclex the 2nd time in November and yes i passed. My hospital had no openings for me as a nurse and they didn't reschedule me as a PCA after passing my boards. They told me they just started a 3 month hiring freeze. lucky for me i got a job offer from a small hospital in town in med surg. I really want that back ground for at least two years. I did get another offer thanks to a friend. She is an OR nurse and her hospital is starting another orientation class in March and June and I was told by the OR manager if the other job falls through to call her so i could work and start my career. It is hard times but my suggestion would be to talk to as many people as you can or know. Sometimes it isn't what you know but who you know.
