My big day - Words of encouragement? Xanax? Something?!!

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hi all.

I posted here because of the attention this forum gets and because I've learned much from all of you. I take my NCLEX tomorrow (6/14) and am just looking for words of encouragement.

Not studying today (going to try to peel all the books off my desk and vacuum my floor.... oh wait, a rake would do better) and am feeling pretty good. Just a bunch of tangled nerves.....I'm so wired, I got a call from a friend (who happens to be a computer geek) who said they were trying to deal with a virus - I thought he was sick, until he started with technical computer jargon. I sat there for five minutes trying to figure out what a trojan opportunistic infection was... sheesh.

So guys, anything to offer?

Thanks for your time!!

1. Don't forget to BREATHE!

2. Lay off the coffee a bit today.

3. PRAY! (if you do that sort of thing).

4. Do some positive self-talk, i.e. "I know this stuff. I am already a good nurse."

5. Did you forget to BREATHE already??

With NCLEX, can you skip a question and go back? I understand it's wise to not stay on something that stumps you but to go back to it.

Get some HUGS tonite!

Give yourself a little quiet time in the morning, k? So you aren't rushed?

I wish you LUCK but you won't need it cuz you GOT IT, girl! (p.s. did I mention breathing?)

Sending positive vibes your way-----------------

Take your time over each question and don't panic if you think you don't know the answer. Just re-read it slowly and make the most sensible choice. Good luck!

What a great thing to wake up this morning and read all these wonderful words of encouragement. Thank you so much! Today's the day and I feel nervous, but in a good way. I'll be sure to let you know how things turned out. Again, thanks for sharing your words. It really means a lot to me.

you will be fine. chill out and get thru the day.

Stay positive. You won't read this until after the test. So just stay positive and enjoy your trip

And let us know as soon as you get your results.

Ok guys.... I am done...

Thanks for all you support. It really helped.

I have to say that sitting in front of that computer, I felt more alone than I ever felt in my life. Yikes! What a harrowing experience. Of course, I feel like I'm doomed (as did my fellow classmates who took it before me and passed) and now I wait until oh either tomorrow or until I get back from vacation to find the results. I'll be sure to let you know.

Still feeling like a deer caught in the headlights! Wow!

I am sure you did fine...don't worry.

I hope you do well!!!
