I, too, just got hired by Mollen.
I am worried about the payroll options.
I am afraid to do the direct deposit, as I don't want to give out my bank information!

Thinking of working for them part time for the up coming flu season to make some extra money.
Does anyone know what they are all about?

I've never done it before, but I am signed up to do it this season. It can't be all that bad - at least I hope not!

I just called Mollen yesterday. They said the training will be available the end of July/ beginning of August. (So, next week or the following week.) Also, per a previous call when I asked about saving the training to my computer to review again if I had any questions at a later date, the lady I spoke with stated Mollen wanted us to print the training and take it to our clinics (which makes sense.)

cool! Thanks so much for your reply!! As a brand new LPN so far they're the only people that will even look at me and I'm excited to get working, even if it's temporary.

I just signed after reading this today as well, but there are some things I need to know.

In New York (does anyone know if they hire in NY?), LPNs are not allowed to administer meds under standard orders, it must be patient specific, unless there is an RN present. I know this because last year, I inquired with the BON based on another situation and they strongly advised me to beware because many flu clinics fly under the radar. We do not have assessment priviledges and we work under the auspice of an RN, physician, physician assistant or dentist. So, if there is no one available to assess a patient and something happens, we are on our own.

This does sound interesting because I have done this before and I have worked as a vaccination nurse administering shots to over 300 soliders. I had help, of course, but, the main thing I need to know is if an RN will be available to assess and sign first. I loved the flu clinics and will do them again in a heart beat as long as my license is covered. I hope to hear from them so that I can inquire further.

I have done immunization clinics for three different companies, including Mollen. In all situations, there were no RNs present (unless there happened to be one working at the same clinic, not usual). We were always told to call 911 no matter what the situation and treat the patient until the EMTs arrive, as we would in similar situations. The biggest problem I had is that you are told to have the customer wait in the store for 15-20 minutes to make sure no extreme allergic reaction. They want to head for the hills. One lady got dizzy outside of the store on her way to the car. She felt better after she sat down for awhile. That's about it. (I make sure I have a pocket mask with me in case I have to do CPR, but thank goodness that has never occurred.)

You've made a good point regarding my concerns for new grads and potential emergencies. Anaphylactic shock definitely makes my heart go pitter patter! (And I'm an old RN!) What we did when we ran Flu clinics (9 years ago) in stores, I told patients to do some shopping for 15 minutes. No, you cannot make them stay, but I'd much rather someone crash around people.

I was EXTREMELY uncomfortable with "drive up" flu clinics that was started the year after I ran clinics. When I voiced my concerned about this practice, I was pooh-poohed. I was told "they are fine." No one hung around in their cars for 15 minutes. Does anyone know if Mollen does "drive up clinics"? I'd love to hear about any experiences anyone has had running a Mollen Flu Clinic? Suggestions? Thanks!
