An Illinois consulting company has been dropped by Fairview Health Services as a revenue manager after Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson alleged consumer protection violations and a troubling shift into unconventional collection practices that extended to patients still in hospital emergency rooms cancer wards and delivery rooms.

Wow, just wow.

"Fairview issued a brief statement Tuesday saying it has cooperated with Swanson and shares her concerns about the practices. Fairview announced that it has dropped Accretive as its revenue manager, although it continues to use the consulting firm for other services."

I don't believe that they're all that "concerned" about Accretive's tactics. Frankly, if I were in charge of anything, I'd drop the donkey holes from anything concerning my health system. This hits home, this is where I live, Fairview is VERY well known and reputable. Rest assured I don't think I'll be seeking employment through this system any time soon. There was another big system about 10 years ago that came up with some..."creative" and "assertive" debt collection practices, and it was all over the news and media, and the system in question suffered a pretty tarnished image. Blech!

Al I can say is WOW! Where do people come up with this stuff? What kind of ethics does this company operate under?
