Help! I am an RN who after nine years of hospital nursing has recently accepted a postion as a coordinator in the benefit interpretation department at a major HM0. Part of my responsibilities include, as my supervisor put it,"becoming the medicare guru" for the benifit dept. I have found several sites on the internet, however I have been unable to find any info about the guidelines medicare uses for supplying durable medical equipment(ie.wheelchairs, basic wound supplies) to residents of intermediate and assisted living (not skilled) care facilities. Any information would be most welcome.
