Re: Medical Careers Institute questions
You'll get a lot more answers on the VA board in the regional section! There are several of us going to MCI.
Are you looking for RN or LPN? Days or nights?
I'm starting the RN program days at VB campus on January 19. The next RN program doesn't start until May. There were three prereqs - Chemistry, Computers, and Math. MCI offers all three at no charge (if you get accepted and go into the RN program - if you drop out then you have to pay). The total RN program is about $35,000. This includes all books and uniforms (Most schools you'll spend about 500-800 on books per semester). There is financial aid available. The day program is only 15 months. This is the biggest benefit for me and worth paying the extra money to be working sooner. While that is one of the perks, I'm sure we'll all come to hate how accelerated it is! They also have a night/weekend program that is 18 months.
I'm not too sure about the LPN program, but I think it's only 12 months.
If you contact the school now, you'll be able to enroll in the three prereqs and be eligible to apply for the May start.
Oh, and you have to take the TEAS pre-admission test.
Hope that helped! Good luck!
