Low BP's

Is it normal for blood pressures to go really low at night? While I was in the hospital this summer my nurses had to periodically take my vital signs (duh) and my bp was fine during the day but at night it would go really low. The nurse would take it like 3 times on my arm then try my leg. I am not worried about it since nothing was ever said about it but I am just wondering.

You only need to worry if your MAP(mean arterial pressure) falls below 60 then your major organs are not properly perfused. To calculate this multiply the diastolic pressure X2, add the systolic pressure and divide by 3.

Everyones blood pressure falls at night when sleeping.

Also, if you were being medicated in the hospital, certain medications lower your BP (especially if given to you at night before bed).
