Is LNA similiar to CNA

Nurses General Nursing

I was searching for a job in Portsmouth New Hampshire and there were some listings for LNA's. The description of the job seems similiar to CNA's which I am right not. I have never really heard anything about LNA's. I did a search on the site here and it didnt come up with anything. Can anyone tell me if there is a similiarity or should I not bother trying to apply for the LNA job? Thanks.

Yes, an LNA is essentially the same job as a CNA. In New Hampshire, nurse assistants are licensed by the Board of Nursing. I think we might be one of the only states that "licenses" nurse assistants instead of "certifying" them.

thank you for the reply....i had a feeling that it was the same....now its just a matter of me changing my certification from Connecticut to New Hampshire....
