Limitations of the Human Body

  1. Hey,

I was watching Cartoon Network (Gundam Wing) a while back and it had this teenager in the hospital with massive wounds and what not. Like broken bones, internal bruising etc... Anyway they had him strapped to a table in a room by himself and being monitored heavily. Now one of the teenager's cohorts or whatever came in and stated "I see you have regained consciousness without raising your bp or pulse [and something else I can not remember]...." Now then, I do not see how this is possible. And this patient is soon seen standing and walking un-aided. In a later episode he even re-sets his own dislocated shoulder.

Is any of this really possible? That is standing with a broken leg, regaining consciousness from a tramatic injury without a change in vitals? Any comments on this would be greating appreicated. I realize that all of this made-up, but just has me curous.
