Liability Insurance

When applying for Liability Insurance -its required for an independent contractor position- do I put my status as my regular full time job which is long term care or answer the questions pertaining to the independent contract position?

I would think to include your LTC position. First, you are being open with the insurance company, and that can't hurt. I worked in an acute care hospital and I always kept my malpractice insurance from the one my college had us get for our student days. Some nurses said you don't need it. They said if you are in a suit you are covered by the larger institution, such as the hospital. But others said, to always buy your own. If the hospital (or whatever) is found liable, than the hospital can turn around and sue you. I followed the reasoning of the second group. The cost is tax deductible as a professional cost, if you itemize. Also, I found it to be reasonable cheap considering what you receive if you are sued, and I would rather be safe, than sorry.
