Hi all

I'm a 23 y/o newly single mom giving up job(won't wrk w/sched.) And apartment to live back w/parents go to school f/t. Very nervous and anxious about my decision. I'm doing 1 yr lvn prgrm(starting aug.28) then going to lvn/rn bridge. I know the sacrifice is worth it but I'm very scared!! Please help!

(((HUGS)))!
About 27 years ago I was right where you are now - newly single mom, back with family, etc. Went through LPN, RN. It hasn't always been easy (understatement of the year) but I've raised my son and several foster sons, bought two houses, put my son through college and am now enjoying the reward of being able to be a travel nurse, seeing the country and doing what I please.
When you get frustrated and depressed just remember that it IS possible and in the long run very rewarding - you can do it!

You will give your children the gift of understanding what hard work and dedication will get you. It will not be easy there will be times where you will want to quit, but if you have the strength to endure, you will be rewarded. You will feel fulfilled and proud that you have entered the most trustworthy professions there is. The hard work you are about to conquer in the end will be one of the most important gifts you give yourself and your children. Good luck, we are all rooting for you!

It's all right---it's perfectly normal to be nervous! This is a big change and a major sacrifice, and it requires a lot of courage. To be honest, I don't think most other people could do it! And you're right, it is going to be worth it in the end, no matter how hard it may get.

Things will work out, just don't let your anxieties dominate your thinking. Take it from someone who knows: Most of the time the things you worry about are illusionary or exaggerated!

Find people to talk to, either online or in person. Try practicing meditation or yoga. And fight those negative thoughts before they get hold of you!

You can do it.

It will be hard but worth it in the end.

Memorize this phrase and say it as needed:

"This, too, shall pass!"

Best of luck to you!

Its normal to be scared, but you are doing something that you should be very proud of.
As you can tell by my user name, I am a big believer that sometimes in life , no matter how scared you are you just have to take the leap.
Good luck!
