Leadership project: Union vs. nonunion

We have to do this Leadership project for our final and I've chosen to do the pros and cons of both union and nonunion. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how to get started? Once I get started, I run with it but I'm not sure where to look. I do know that a new union is coming into our hospital. I think they are called the SEIU. I'm kind of floundering about how to start. Should I interview nurses who are both union and nonunion and then find out WHY they made the choice they did? Also, are their any websites out there or research articles that deal with unions?

I would start by going to google and typing in ICFTU this is a website discussing issues with unions. Also there is a book by Open university 'The history of trade unions' Furthermore you may also want to compare internationally since UK and Europe have a longer history of union membership. Another book Nurses and Politics the impact of power and pratice by Chirs Hart. Chapter 5 deals with unions. The website I recommend is http://www.unison.org.uk. hope this helps.
