Hey all. I do plan on eventually going for my RN but at the moment I'm staying home raising my two little ones. Now here is the problem: I am deathly scared of screwing up. So much so that I have been constantly second guessing my idea of going into nursing. Is there anything I can do w/o actually hurting the patients? I love to do paperwork (yes, I know its strange) but is there any nursing-like job where I wouldnt have as much patient contact and would mostly be doing paperwork?

Paper work is unfortunately how most nurses spend the majority of their time. I would look into working at an insurance companies, most medical insurance companies use nurses to help them review claims. Legal nursing also an option. Unfortunately most of these jobs require clinical experience, at least a few years

Discharge planning? I always think that sounds kind of fun.

Manager, although our managers work a shift a week to keep up their skills and to be part of the team. That's cool.

What about teaching? Lamaze et al. classes; you'd be working with people, but not in a "sick" environment. Diabetes education, maybe.
