Hey guys I have a question.

Unfortunately lol I have come down with jock itch! I assume it is from exercising and wearing my scrubs. My scrubs are a little big from losing weight and the crotch is by my knees sometimes and I think from sweating I have gotten this anyway my question lol What can I use to help clear this up fast? I was using some cream corticoid i think, that I bought at the store but i think it made it worse. I just tonight used medicated powder the gold bond stuff and it cooled it down and stung like a bitc* lol but my boyfriend said to try the spray. I am afraid to use the spray because of my private. I don't want a yeast infection or any other kind of infection in there lol I never had one and don't want one. Now that I have been rambling can someone just give me a good thing to use for a girl! Lol

either doc can handle that

I never get jock itch

I dont wear one

I like to dangle

:rotfl: Oh Tom...you are always good for a laugh!

If you are female I would recommend what I do. I clean the area well and apply zinc oxide. Works well overnight. To avoid getting it again. You won't believe this but it works sooooo good. I use an antiperspirant. I apply to the inside of my legs where they rub together and under my tummy. You could even use it under the boobies. I worked in a factory and suffered for 15 years with heat rashes and blistering and torn skin. I would be miserable. I could barely walk after a few hours of work. I tried everything. Even taping telfa pads to the insides of my legs. Sometimes they would stay in place and other times they would slip and make it worse. The nurse in First Aid told me to try the antiperspirant and I have been sold ever since.

For males, there are some great sprays at the pharmacy like tinactin and stuff for jock itch. They could also do the above with great results I bet.

I know how much discomfort you are in and I hope you will try this. Hope it helps.

Definitely Cruex. My husband swears by it! It's also great for that under the boobies rash and I'll swear by that. :D

Your e-mail conjured some bad memories. When I was 17 I lived in a hot, humid place and wore tight jeans (it was the 1980s). And I got jock itch.

Imagine, 17 year old guy - and all that implies. So I tried every OTC ointment, powder, medication, etc. Sneaking it into my house because - of course - no one else could have ever had my problem. :chuckle And it got worse, and worse. Finally, I had to gather my dignity and go to a dermatologist. He prescribed an anti-fungal compound that killed it in about 3 days. After 6 months of embarassment and agony. I can't remember what it was but wow did it work.

Moral of the story: forget all the OTC treatments and do-it-yourself advice. Go to the doctor and get some real medicine. Life is way too short to deal with the agony of jock itch.

Geez, I didn't know u could get jock itch just from wearing a bra too long.

At my pharmacy, people come in with that problem all the time, also with athlete's foot. The pharmacist recommends the same cream for both problems, i think the name is lamasil.

Hope that helps. Good luck.
