you know those small plastic cups, the 120cc ones? we take those, cut them in half, put cloth tape around the sharp edges, and voila, a little iv house. slap a sticker over it and they are customized lol. easily lifts up to check out the site underneath it, while keeping little fingers away.

Nope, that is not it. But thanks for looking. This thing looks like a splint you would use for a sprained wrist-has velcro tabs. No tape is needed....The peds dept at the other hospital said they use them religiously.....

Lots of cute stuff, but their IV guard isn't it either.

I even looked on the IV protector itself and no luck. The tag didn't have squat on it....just the size.... :confused:

They have ones for wrist/forearm/upper arm as well, and none of them need tape, they're all the velcro strappy kind. Have a delve into the ordering pages and they have diagrams and sizes etc. Probably not exactly the same as the ones you saw, but better than a slap in the belly with a wet kipper

Sorry Ayemmeff, I haven't seen them anywhere except on their site. Wish I had - I imagine you'd be able to order them via the sites mentioned on their homepage if your trust was willing to cough up.

WalMart, when I did my paeds placement the nurses used the offcuts of O2 tubing and cut it along the length then slide it onto the cup lip after trimming it down - makes a dinky little plastic cuff for the bottom of the cup that doesn't cut in quite so much. The 02 tubing offcuts were also used for popping over the ends of our scissors so we didn't stab ourselves in the leg when we sat down. :)
