In Memory of those who died in Arizona

Nurses General Nursing

I know we are all mad about what happened at the University of Arizona. We already have a threat about the shooting but when I looked at it I felt that it turned more into a debate about gun-controll than anything else.

Fellow Nurses; I urge you to leave your differences beside. I want this threat to be a beacon on light and hope towards the staff, students and families affected by this tragedy. I hope that after everyone has responded we will be able to send this trheat to the UofA as a small support. That they know that there are nurses out there who feel for them and pray for them. Please leave your feeling about gun control out of this threat and offer support and symphaty to everyone affected.

I pray for everyone that has been affected in any part by this tragedy, and so do my classmates in my nursing class.

God Bless all of you,

My prayers go out to all those affected by this terrible tragedy.

I have a family member that attends nursing school at the University of Arizona.

Thank you Marcus for creating a thread for those of us that don't want to focus on the gun control issue.

A tragedy indeed.

My sister lives in Tucson, only a few blocks from the school. I called her today, and she was very depressed. She has had a new little assistant the past month whom she adores and had taken under her wing at their place of employment. The young girl is only 20, and came into work all happy and bubbly yesterday...she was called out at 2pm and informed that her mother was shot at the university... she was one of the nursing professors. :o Another girl at the store takes nursing classes there as well, and it was also her instructor that was shot. It really hit home for my sister... and she is grieving for these 2 young girls.... please remember them ALL. :o

Thank You MarcusK!

Perhaps if we all spent a little more time praying and a little less arguing, this world would indeed be a better place.

May it give all the survivors a small measure of peace to know that there are nurses all over the world mourning with you.

Thank you!!! I was watching the other thread turn into a debate on gun control. I was hoping it would shift back to they TRUE issue (even posted something to this effect), but it was too far gone. This is not the time to post such inflammatory remarks as comments on gun control opinions. What's important is the people who were involved, and those who LIVED...the stress involved in not only being in the situation, but having to deal with the memory of the shootings for the rest of their lives...that can be a horrible thing. I've been praying for the students and the families of those who lost their lives. That's what we should be doing, not arguing over whose fault it is.

OB/GYN NP---I agree, I was very disapointed by the way the other thread went. I think it is to far gone though. I was happy to see a thread dedicated to those that lost their lives. I hope no one hijacks this thread.

So let's not even mention the "other thread" here, ok?
