I'm In!!!

  1. I got the letter today that I've been accepted to a local private college's ADN program for this fall. I'm so happy, especially since the community college has like a two yr. waiting list. Plus, this way, I can go straight for my RN, instead of having to get my LPN first, then go for RN a year later.

I just hope I do well, I've heard good and bad things about this school's program. I've heard they're great and do a great job teaching, then I've heard from others that the instructors are almost ruthless to male students, so I don't know. Based on my own impressions, everyone I've talked to at the school has been really nice. Unlike the community college, they act like the school was put there so they'd have a job lol.

    Anyway, just thought I'd share

LOL, thanks Jnette, I know it won't be easy, but if I can make it though Marine Corps boot camp, I should be able to handle this. I'm looking forward to the challenge and most importanly becoming an RN.

CONGRATS!!!!!! From one guy to another, don't sweat the little things! Be yourself, do the best and your instructors won't know you from one gal to a guy. I think I have read in here from all different guys about how ruthless programs are for the guys. Ignore all the hype! Patients don't really care who is taking care of them as long as it is with professionalism and compassion. Good luck and again CONGRATS!!!!!!! Mike

Now the fun (does nursing school allow sleep?) really starts. Hang in there, it's well worth it.
