For some reason I was thinking about Spinal Tap, at the end, when the guy says he would sell hats if he wasn't a musician.

So if you weren't a nurse, what would you have become?

If I was being serious, probably a social worker, because when I went back to school, I was debating between social work and nursing.

If I was being whimsical, I'd be an astronaut. Even though I think I'm too tall, and know I'm too out of shape and don't have the science and engineering brain for it. But it's a fun thought!

Art teacher... illustrator of children's books.

I have a natural gift but I never took it to its full potential.

I used to blow people away with my abilities, but I've lost a lot of skill.

Whimsically... hmmm... radio DJ or a writer along the lines of Beverly Cleary or Judy Blume (though my grammar is nowhere as good as it used to be, obviously.)

I also worked in jewelry sales and would have loved to have been an actual jeweler, but how does one achieve that?

Is Queen of the Universe taken? No? Then.......ME!

Specializes in Oncology/hematology.

Realistic one I already did: personal trainer (hated that job).

What could I have some fun with: forest ranger, secret shopper, first woman president, domestic goddess.

What I really want is for someone to pay me to stay home in my pjs all day, but I haven't found anyone who is willing yet.

Ah, that is a specialized line of work.....maybe go to SugarDaddy.com ? LOL....

Specializes in Rehab, critical care.

If not nursing, then I would have become a counselor.

Whimsical: Small business owner, specifically ice cream/frozen yogurt, and also have a small ice cream store in an assisted living/SNF that I could staff for the residents. I love small, family owned businesses, but they have it more difficult now than in years past. They can hardly compete with the big box stores.

Specializes in CCM, PHN.

I was almost a firefighter before I was a nurse. A week before the physical aptitude tests I fell off an unfinished deck and blew out my knee. Even after surgery I was deemed too much a liability to the department and my dream went "up in smoke," haha. I still think it's the coolest job in the world and my heart aches when the ladder trucks go by.

I often hear that I should have been a lawyer or op-ed journalist, I'm a great debater and writer.

Really, I'd secretly like to chuck it all, p*ss on health care, and start up a combo pit bull rescue/lavender farm!

Specializes in Public Health, L&D, NICU.

Lawyer. I have a law degree and passed the Bar, but it really wasn't my thing. Too hard to feel like the good guy when you are a lawyer.

If the world was wide open? Midwife (so restricted in my state that it's really a whimsical idea here), bookstore owner, writer, profesional couch-potato.

Specializes in Peds, School Nurse, clinical instructor.

Walmart Greeter :)
