If you knew then what you know now . . .

  1. What are some words of advice to a new nursing student? What, in your experience, and why, are the best places (i.e. hospital, home health, nursing home, school nursing, travel nursing, admin, supervisory roles, etc.) to work?
What would you go back and change?
What do you advise for a student NEVER to forget?
    Thanks

The one thing that is very important to remember is.......
NEVER, NEVER, EVER FORGET TO TAKE YOUR BIRTH CONTROL PILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never forget "You will learn something new EVERY DAY!" and you don't (and never will) know it all! What you don't know, look up! Don't be afraid to tell someone you don't know something or how to do something. NEVER try to bluff your way though!
The best place to get experience is acute care hospitals, it will give you a wide range.
What would I change? I guess I would have gone to medical school instead (anything they can do I can do, and most likely do better!!!)

I should have listened to my father and married a rich man.

Always treat your patients the way you would want your family treated.
