My boss recently challenged us to be a Johnny. You must watch the following video to understand what that means. It was very inspiring and touching. Do any of you have any ideas of how I can be a Johnny, not only today, but everyday as I take care of my hospice patients.

I think we do this all the time and aren't always aware of it. I know this because when we get our surveys back in the mail at our hospital, I often cannot even remember a pt who writes the nicest thing about a seemingly meaningless thing (to me at the time, anyway) that I did during their stay. We just never really know.

That is an inspirational movie, isn't it? To me, being a "Johnny" means taking the effort to learn what's important to each individual,then doing my best to meet whatever their need is.
