I feel like I'm stuck

Hello everyone, so I'm looking for advice or even words of encourment for my current situation. I currently hate my job. I started in an ICU unit several months ago, but it is more of a PCU unit. Mostly step down patients that are waiting for a bed elsewhere. THe whole time I've been here, I've cared for maybe 3-4 actual critical patients. Not really what I had in mind. I would just jump and seek a job elsewhere but I'm also pregnant at the moment and don't know how insurance and all that stuck would work moving at this time. I'm totally at a lost for what to do right now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

How far along are you? I would likely hold out unless it was very early in the pregnancy.

Insurance, looking like a job hopper, and then there's the just off orientation now im on maternity leave. Not to mention there is a lot to be said about a less demanding job during the pregnancy/new baby stage.

In your current situation I would advise just hanging in there. It may not be your ideal job but most people work in a job that isn't their ideal. You will be okay. After baby comes and you are readjusting to life after you can look for something else. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Stay where you are. What do you hate about the job other than not being happy with the fact that most of your patients aren't as intense as you would like?

If that's your biggest problem, you are in good shape. You don't need a lot of extra stress at this time. Take it easy and use this opportunity to earn some money and earn credibility with step-down patients. Once the baby comes and you have settled in as a mom, then you can take on more intensity if that is what you still want at that time.
