I made myself apply for a job in the Opthamology clinic...wow! After 10 years of general med, it would be quite a change. Its part time and maybe I won't get it...but I at least applied. Now I'm frantic about the interview...I know NOTHING about opthamology or ambulatory care!LOL

Congratulations on taking the step by applying and good luck. I hope, if this is the job for you, that you get it. Relax for the interview. You've been nursing for 10 years, you will do fine.

Goodluck on the interview-but do a little research and refreshing in opthalmology. They won't expect you to be a know it all but if ya can't answer basics it might be interpreted that you really aren't interested(blanket resumes), or that you aren't knowledgeble enough. A little effort can go a long way. Then be confident you passed boards and have been a nurse in one of the hardet areas to work for ten years. You can do it!

Just my thoughts, but learning to spell "ophthalmology' might be a very good start.

Oh don't worry....just because we are nurses doesn't mean we have to spell every single word correctly especially in our down time...do it where it counts and I for one, have been a great speller and I make mistakes on the boards....some people just like to bring others down...anyway they can. Good luck with your opportunity for change.
