I'm so happy.... and nervous. University of Alabama called today to let me know I was accepted for their accelerated program. I am so thrilled.. And scared as hell... I was told that the traditional 2yr BSN program is very hard. I can't imagine condensing 4 yrs in 18 mos... I hope I have enough brain cells to go through this..

I'm going straight for my MSN. BSN in 12 mos, and then an extra 2 semesters for the MSN.

Congrats! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! I actually have fun with some of these assignments/projects/clinics/readings/labs... but be prepared to put in a lot of time.. especially for an accelerated program. But it's doable. I know someone who did a 2 year accelerated and she managed to pull off straight A's + A+'s

Am I reading your post right? The accelerated program is just 12 months? How do they fit it all in?

Congrats! I'm just finishing up a 16 month accelerated program (5 more weeks!). If you have any questions about what it's like, feel free to pm me.

Again, congratulations on your acceptance. It's not easy to get into this type of program, so I am sure that you are more than qualified and will do just fine.

Thanks everyone for the congrats. I'm really excited.. . The school told me when I applied I'd be informed via letter by the middle of this month, so I was really surprised at the personal phone call. I think it's because I agreed to take the accelerated MSN program they were recruiting me for.

I'm still trying to fathom how on earth an MSN degree can be squeezed into 18 mos.? Golly, I hope it doesn't kill me.

WOW, you must be ecstatic to be finishing soon. How gruelling is the accelerated program? I'm such an old fart (just turned 45), I'm not sure my motherboard (brain) will compute fast enough to keep up...
