We got our instructor a very nice houseplant (it keeps living long after we're gone!), but the hospital did nothing. Kinda sad.

I work for home health agencies and don't have cases right now. Not a peep. I'm looking for different employers, maybe find some that have a little or a lot of work for me. That's all I care about.

This is the first year in my memory where nurses week wasn't celebrated.

All we received was a red flyer from the corporate office which read, "Happy Nurses Week!"

Now I know how highly management values nurses at my workplace!

I work in a building that has two different healthcare organizations in it. We share hallways and eating spots. The other organization put up pictures and banners, but my organization did nothing...surely the boss saw what the other boss did....

This week, the DON is taking the nurses to lunch or dinner (you have to sign up for 1) at a nice restaurant nearby. I signed up for lunch.

Oh come on . Do you really believe that they care about nurses? Ya know we were very low pay professionals until.....we got male nurses then our pay scales started to rise...but our overall benifits plumetted. Now we have no nurse appreciation .. whatever hmmmm what will be next....I wonder?

JFK Medical Center/Edison did NADA=====NOTHING AT ALL!! A poster taped up on the wall, with some balloons. Oh....they announced a free breakfast, and guess what time it was set for: 7am to 8am!!! What a laugh!!! Guess they didn't want to serve many breakfasts.....everyone is in report then. Just terrible!

Each year HR asks me "When is nurses Week" : Gee it hasn't changed in 20+ years!
Nurse Week has morphed into Colleague Appreciation Day " as we want to acknowledge all members of home health care team".

Had signs posted to all entrace to offices. Each banch of company had either breakfst or lunch. Billing Dept and I get the pleasure of planning this and Christmas cellebration. Had catered breakfast sandwaches, french toast, fresh fruit cup, juice, bagels and danish tray. We had our own coffee as thrw out most last year.
Each manager wrote card thanking staff & included $5.00 convenience store/gas card (instead of homesafety ki0. Gave extra movie tickets to those exemptstaff who stay late to help when were swamped (ineligible for overtime as salaried).

Think I will push recruitment and retention to try and get business to donate next year since were non-profit.

We got a 99 cent plant from walmart and a "gift bag" with a handful of candy in it. We didn't even get a company umbrella or coffee cup like we did last year. Guess they really appreciated all the work we did for the JC visit....

We had pancakes one day, made by the executive team (lots of acronyms and people I will never see me again). The CMO made me one shaped like a snowman. I'll take whatever I can get.
