How Transfer My License To Another State?

  1. Hi everyone.

I pass my NCLEX board in New Mexico. Now I'm moving with my family to Florida. Does anybody knows what should I do to trasfer or validate my license in that state?:icon_rolleyes: Thanks.

Go to the state BON and look at endorsement of license. If foreign trained you need to meet their requirements of foreign trained so may mean CES if you haven't already got it.

You will need to endorse your New Mexico license into the state of Florida. Contact the Florida B.O.N. for more information on how to get the "licensure by endorsement" process started.

Yoyo...I am sorry for you. this is a pain right in the butt. I transferred from Penn. to NY and what a hassel! It takes twice as long as just getting your licence in the first place! Make sure you call both state boards of nursing and fill out all the forms both states need or else you are in for a longer wait. And, don't forget to pay those fees!!! Try to get your Florida license before you get your job, and it also helps if its not at the same time the grad are getting thiers. If you have trouble, try writing your local assembly man....it worked for me!! They put a rush on my license and I finally got it after 3 mo of waiting!!

I've never had a problem. I just make sure I follow the directions. I've had up to 13 dif state nursing licenses at one time, du to travel assignments. The ones that require Fingerprint's and stuff do take longer. Don't procrastinate, but's it's not hard.

Agree 100% with you, have never had an issue getting an endorsement, one just needs to make sure that the proper documents are submitted and then not a problem.

The only ones that should have a longer time are the foreign trained nurses as many states require the CES, and if that was never done, then there will be a delay.
