How to shut up people who gossip !!!!!!

  1. A very wise person swears that printing out the following and posting it around the workplace will drastically cut down gossiping and backbiting, or at least tick them off:

    Great people talk about ideas.
    Average people talk about things.
Small people talk about other people.

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It reminds perpetrators that their poop does indeed stink.

I like it. I'm going to make a gazillion copies and have them pasted everywhere on the floor.

So sick of people talking about others behind their back but are nice to their faces. Makes me wonder what they say about me. But you know, I don't care. I do my job and that's all that matters.

So, you think calling people 'hags' is mature and lofty?

NAH, they will only gossip about the one who posted the poster!

After posting, I did try to change the title, but it only let me change the subject in the initial post.

You've never heard of a gossip hag? Trying to nitpick?

    Hmmm...
Great people see the goal/main idea and strive toward it.
Small people nitpick, whine, and otherwise trip up progress.

I wonder if I could get it:
    -Skywritten
-Printed on money alongside E Pluribus Unum
-Have Texas Medical Center adopt it as the official slogan

I like it and it is true. (Although I must admit I have been guilty of all three.)

Here is another to add to the list:

A true leader comes underneath and raises the other up. He does not gossip or despise.

This is a great quote that I'll put in my quote file. Thank you for sharing this.

    <snarkiness alert!>

Has anybody ever had a manager or charge nurse who is really like this (like this quote)? (I haven't.) Are any of you all like this personally, and this is why you will never be promoted to nursing leadership?

Actually, I like "Speak the truth, but leave immediately after."

Snark=snide+remark....but it is used with humor, not hate. They relish snark on the Television Without Pity forum.
