My Adn progran is about 2200 a semester. This is just for the 9 credit nursing class. Other classes are 525 dollars for a 3 credit course. Books and supplies were about a grand up front. Good for the whole 2 years though. Pretty good deal considering private schools in my area are charging 3 times that amount. I live in NH.

1962 diploma school $0 per semester-only did one and changed to business school

1963 BSN school $13 semester hour or $162 a semester of 18-20 hours did

2 1/2 years there

1973 ADN school $ 900 for 2 semesters and 2 summer school sessions.

1965 (in between) BA using some of the BSN school credits I finished for $425.

So I'm a BA AD RN ONC -sounds like a pig farmer doesn't it? Getting & keeping being certified cost more than all my schooling put together.

I've just started looking into this; $20/credit hour for pre-reqs at a CA CC and then $159/unit online from Rio something in AZ.

I paid about $900 for the first semester (tuition, books and uniforms)

$550 for each semester after that.

4 semesters, ADN program. Paid completely by tuition reimbursement (no contract!)

I'm holding out for my work to pay for my BSN as well (next year they will). I'm trying to see how many nursing degrees I can get for free!

Diploma school here in the northeast. I went 3 years, my total tuition cost for 8 semesters (2 summer semesters) was approx 19K.

This goes to show how long ago I went to NS... the cost for an entire year, tuition, room and board and fees, was $5500 my first year. I think it might have been up to around $7000 4 years later, but pennies compared to what it is now.

I can beat that. My total cost was $900- back in the dark ages for diploma RN.

I spent three times that two years ago for a one week course to become Wound Care Certified!

I spent:

$12,000 a year x4 for my private school BSN = $48,000

I'm currently spending: (ok, I'm supposedly getting $30k tuition reimbursement)

$1100/credit x 46 credits = $50,600 for my Ivy League MSN/NNP

My undergrad loans are paid off, and I am getting by without any loans so far for grad school between working full-time and getting tuition reimbursement.

Yeah, I'm poor.

My books cost about the same as my tuition, if I remeber right.

Total cost RN diploma $500/semester x3/yr = 6 semesters =$3000 total tuition circa 1988.

I got my BSN. In the late 80's-early 90's in a private college it was $186/credit hour, I took pud classes at the community college and they ran about $70/credit hour. Must say with student loans to pay it was still a good investment . Nursing has been good to me.

Thanks, husker. It's always nice to hear someone with something good to say about the profession that I'm about to invest 18 months and tens of thousands of dollars to enter.
