How do I get my CNA?

My names Stephanie and I am turning 20 this month, and I need to do something with my life, and I always wanted to be a nurse. My cousin who is younger then me just got her CNA, and I want to get mine now because she said it only takes a month and it doesnt cost that much. I was hopeing somebody could tell me were in California, preferably in Apple Valley area or VictorVille I can get my CNA. And I also wanted to know if I could get it done for free or get a special loan. And how much it normaly costs.

I just recently obtained my CNA. I went through a course offered through one of the Nursing Homes/Assisted Living Facilities in my area. This course was no charge and if they liked you during internship, you would be offered a job. I am now working at this facility. My recommendation is to call the Nursing Homes in your area to see what they offer. You can also google Nursing Assistant programs for California and they are likely to give you locations that have these programs. Hope this helps.

welcome to the nursing field.

I'm not anywhere near Cali, so I cannot tell you specificaly where to go. I do think, however, the previous poster gave good advice and I also want to caution you to do some good research. Where I live, there are many schools for CNAs and the cost and duration varies greatly. There are differences in cost of up to $500 and the more expensive schools aren't the ones turning out the best trained CNAs. Again, I like the previous poster's suggestion. See if any of your local hospitals are putting on a class. A lot of colleges put on the class, as well as the amrerican red cross. You sould do it! It is a great way to get started in nursing. It is a lot of hard work though.
