Holy Abscess! Not for the faint of heart

This is quite a large abscess, kind of gross too :)

My son saw this and asked if it was real? I said it looks real to me. What do you think?

Have any of you nurses seen an abscess this bad? Worse?

Had a cancer pt on hospice with a watermelon sized tumor on the hip; was on massive amounts of pain meds. Don't know why noone would drain it for her, but it finally exploded literally, pus on the walls and the whole room. Went to less than a 10th of the pain meds after that.

Let's hope this pt was sedated or under general anesthetic... and gave his/her permission for the procedure to be videoed and then broadcast on the internet...

Wow That was an amazing video. Holy cow! That poor fellow must have felt soooo much better.

Count me in as one of the sickos on here.. I love popping zits and watching stuff like this too.. lol. Can't believe the sheer amount of pus that came out of that person's leg.

That was pretty cool! Don't want to imagine the smell though...but overall very fascinating!

I love this. Amazing.

That is absolutely disgusting and yet I watched it twice and insisted on showing my girlfriend who is also a nursing student. I feel bad for the poor patient but hopefully he/she is doing better now.

that was AWESOME. made my day. can you imagine how much better that person is going to feel when they wake up?????

That is impressive.

I thoroughly enjoyed that! I already shared with many folks, and I too would have loved to be the one doing the hand motions.

I had no problem with it, since it wasn't sputum. :D

Anybody want a tall glass of milk ? :D

Buttermilk perhaps? ;)
