What is the holiday policy where you all work?

Where I am, if a holiday falls on your regularly scheduled day off, you'll get 8 hours of holiday pay/comp time (your choice).

If you have to work that day, you get the 8 hours pay/comp time, in addition to time and a half. So, it's actually double time, and a half. However IF you take the day off, meaning it is vacation... you will get 8 hours vacation pay, and nothing else. (which comes out of your vacation bank). This applies also if you are off sick.

Just wondering what it's like for the rest of you.

I don't get any holiday pay, I haven't been at my job 6 mos. quite yet, and I have to be full time to get it.

We get time and half on the holiday if we work. We also get a PTO day whether we work or not.

No holiday pay. Everybody gets 8 hr for each legal holiday, put into PTO (paid time off) bank. If you also work that day there is no adjustment because your check reflects only what you work. The PTO time can be used whenever you want/need it. We don't allow vacations 11/15-1/15, unless approved by manager. Everyone has to take turns working major holidays. This seems fair to most.

If we work the holiday we can opt to "bank it" by placing 8 hours in our vacation hours, or take time and a half for 8 of the hours the you work. If we are off we are given 8 hours of regular pay or you can "bank it".

BTW Bambi that bites that you have to work 6 months to get the holiday pay. It is an unfair policy. I bet all the new people will have to work the holidays, and then not even be compensated for them. It always amazes me what corporations will do to their employees.
