Check w/the financial aid department of the college you are attending. They usually have lots of resources and people to help point you in the right direction, as well as help you fill out the necessary paperwork.
Also--don't forget, public and college libraries have books in their reference sections that outline grants, loans, and scholarships available and what the necessary qualifications are. Check it out! Ask the librarian about where these references are and how to use them. I wish you good luck!:)

Hi Trista,
If you contact your school financial aid office they will be able to give you info. I think one of the most common grants given to Undergrads is the Pell Grant.
See this website for more info.

Good Luck,

Don't forget that the Reserves and the armed forces can be a good way to get your education paid for. Check with hospitals in your area too. Some of ours offer scholarships if one agrees to work for them after graduation...

You already went to your school Financial Aide Office and fill out the federal forms already right? I did it online... it's much easier if you're comfortable with the internet.

Back in the Dark Ages when I finished high school we had counselors that would help you with finding money for college. But the other posts are very good to find money especially the Pell Grants are great. Welcome to the world of nursing also!!!!!! :balloons:

What are the qualifications for a Pell grant? I knew some single moms attending a local MA class...who were managing FT school because of the grant..some were even still working on their GED's. I just used student loans...low interest and payments don't start til after graduation and you're working....
Good luck and welcome to nursing...you're in at a good time...Bush recently signed the Nurse Reinvestment Act and increased funding should be available soon!!
Ask the Dean of Nursing's office about scholarships and grants....she should know of specific nursing monies!
I want to thank everyone who has wrote back to me, it really means a lot to me ane thanks for all the help.
love ya!
