HELP! upcoming interview for an occupational health nurse!

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hi everybody! I'm almost again new here and been reading this website since 2011 before I took my NCLEX RN. So now, I just wanna get some little help from you guys about my upcoming interview on Tuesday for an occupational health nurse position in a chemical company here in CA.

so here's my background: I am currently working at a Skilled nursing facility as noc nurse handling up to 38 patients per night with 2 CNAs. Been working for 3 years and a month now, and i just recently got my ACLS cert, thats just it. Honestly, I'm just tired working at a SNF handling all these patients with no help at all, its just frustrating that everybody thought that we night nurses do nothing on our shift, but hey we get busy most of the time especially when all these patients act up and go crazzzzyy. sooo frustrating. and they dont appreciate you after all, they still add tons of workload at our shift only because we're not busy. and they always say pass it to the night nurse, even these orders were received at 5pm, No way! im just not happy with where i am right now. I love being a nurse and I just dont want to hate nursing as early as this year because of these heavy workloads and lazy co-workers, OMG! Im always stressed out right after my shift most of the time, i always get tired and exhausted all the time! so unfair. been applying to other places but no luck at all because of my SNF experience, been exposed to some home health situations but did not pursue it for some geographic reasons.

So, been applying to different places too, and I got a call last Tuesday for an interview as Occupational Health nurse in a chemical company. I have no background at all with regards to OHN. so what are your tips about this??? please help i felt that i want this job and I prayed for this too, just wondering what would be the best salary for this job?? tips for the interview? what to expect and any suggestions?? i would love to hear from you guys. thanks in advance. :)
