HELP!!!

by Rvca

I am applying to a new hospital base 2 year RN diploma program. My last school I didn't quite make it. I did fine First semester in Nursing 110 but in Nursing 120 I failed by a point. (My final average was a 79....passing is 80). So i was dismissed. I asked around and they said when applying to a different school its best not to say you went to a Different school and failed.

So my question is on the application to this school it says "Have you ever taken a pre-nursing test? .... If i put NO. Would or can they find out if I did? I've taken the NET EXAM in the past.

I wouldn't lie, nowdays, they can find anything out, even though "white lies" are to help us, they are still lies. Just be honest and tell them what happened.

Good Luck!

I would tell the truth. The question isn't asking if you were enrolled in a previous nursing program...just if you took a pre-nursing test. They may be able to find out, but if you passed the pre-nursing test, I would think it would make you look good.

I asked a student from that school. They said they don't allow anyone in. who recently was unsuccessful at a previous school

I agree. Tell the truth. You don't necessarily have to go into details but when asked keep your answers short and truthful. If you don't tell the truth and are found out, you will undoubtably be ousted.

Agree with above post,I say be honest as well.If I was the one you could say yay or nay,I would definitely say no to someone who lied(as am sure a lot of people would). As students what we say is not always accurate when it comes to things of this sort. I would say to call the Nursing Department and ask(they don't know who's calling)them if that is so.You may have failed but I'm sure you've learned a lot of things through that experience. I'm also sure there are schools that give second chances, don't give up! I pray you get in!God bless!Oh yea,how were your NET scores?

I really don't remember what I scored. All i know is it was good enough. I'm also a college graduate with a B.A in natural sciences & mathematics but my gpa isn't strong at all 2.41. I don't want to give up ...I can't imagine doing anything else. Im like really depressed right now.

It is always best to be truthful upfront and not let the school find out of their own can give them grounds to dismiss you from the program

I wouldn't take another student's word for it.

Call in to the school and ask an admissions counselor the same concerns that you have shared with us.

You don't need to give your information or a name..simply call in as a prospective student and ask your questions specifically...this way you are prepared for what you should expect.

Whatever the case...be as general as you can when answering about your last school..but be honest. I don't feel it's necessary to disclose anything that may count against you unless they ask directly...then, of course, do not lie.
