Heart Attack Grill (20/20 ABC show) - page 8

Thought for sure I would see an uproar about this restaurant in Az featured on ACB's 20/20. The waitresses wear slutty porn-type 'nurses' outfits and roll their bloated patrons to their car in a w/c... Read More

Couldnt have said it better. I can think of better things for the BON to spend hour and dollars fighting for.

Personally, I would not eat at this resturaunt for the same reasons I don't eat at hooters, or any other resturaunts that exploit women. That's the real issue at hand.
The restaurants may have a hand in exploiting women, but the women who are choosing to work in such establishments are just as guilty of exploiting themselves.

I totally agree with this statement as well.

I too saw this piece on 20/20 and well, yeah, I was offended in that there is nothing sexually suggestive in real nursing attire or nursing behavior at all. To sham the public under the guise of "naughty nurses" is just straight up stupid to me, and a business owners demeaning way of luring patrons and female employees into his funky eatery. The owner would have gotten just as much business if he had placed a few poles in the restaurant with the waitresses swinging from them in porn gear after they take the order.

Heck...I'm more offended by their menu! They and their customers will be helping keep cardiologists in business!

There is a line that must be drawn with common sense...
The BON should not have gotten involved with this issue...what a trivial matter to get involved in! How about nurse patient-ratios/wages, etc as another person mentioned? The fact that our boards who are supposed to be rallying for better working conditions, yet waste their time bickering over a crappy resturaunt whose waitresses wear SPOOF NURSE COSTUMES does more to hurt the nursing image than the resturaunt does. Does that make sense to anyone?"

    My thoughts exactly.
Heart Attack Grill Nurses are actually NOT REAL NURSES

I don't know what gags me most: the concept of that place, the menu, the tacky trampy dress code of the waitresses, or the wheelchairs.

On another point, i wonder how many people out there in the world are in NEED of a wheelchair, and this place is needlessly using them.

Or this extremely mature take on the matter from heartattackgrill.com:

    [FONT=Arial, Verdana, Helvetica]
[FONT=Arial, Verdana, Helvetica]Some information for those of you:
[FONT=Arial, Verdana, Helvetica]a) with no common sense
[FONT=Arial, Verdana, Helvetica]b) born without a sense of humor
[FONT=Arial, Verdana, Helvetica]c) who have no concept of parody
[FONT=Arial, Verdana, Helvetica]d) with no taste for fantasy
[FONT=Arial, Verdana, Helvetica]e) who are politically correct extremist wackos
[FONT=Arial, Verdana, Helvetica][FONT=Arial, Verdana, Helvetica]While the Heart Attack Grill nurses* offer a high standard of care, they are not REAL Nurses and do not provide actual medical treatment. We feel the need to say this because of people in the world who are afflicted with at least one of the conditions listed above. Yes, there really might be a person out there who would think that our "nurses*" are the real thing.

I'm not in concurrence with the majority opinion here.

I'm not sure I can label the restaurant without having experienced it first.

I think the BON is being absurd in threatening lawsuit.

Allow me to quote member anc33 from page 1:

I am personally not that offended. Its not like nursing is the only occupation to receive this kind of attention. After all, we have naughty librarians, police officers, housewives, teachers and so on. We also objectify men in the same way. Hot construction workers, police, firemen, etc.
    I agree.

    cheers,

I would like to think nursing is more resilient than to be undone by a sexy waitress gimmick at a grill.

    Are they hot?
