I found this really neat 3:1 tool that is a pr of scissors, clamp and it was curved further inside the clamp so you could unscew IV tubings that were too tight. I loved my speciality tool, but I lost it in a room and now it's gone.:crying2: It looked like clamps until you opened them.

I contacted the store I got them from and they don't carry them any longer nor do they know the brand. I can't remember as it was a year ago.

If anyone has something like this, can you tell me where you got it, name, etc??

Sounds like a pair of hemostats. You should be able to get them any nursing supply store.

No these are not plain hemostats. They have scissors and a cut out area in the back part of the clamp to unscrew stuff. I have a shoe box of hemostats /clamps. Never in my 20+ yrs ovf working have I seen this tool.

I use a basic model and really like them. I think they're kinda new. Don't really know where they are sold. A friend gave them to me. You're right...that curved grip is great for removing stuck IV's etc. Hope that helps.

Those aren't it, but those are really neat! Mine had a hemostat in the front and scissors in the back. That way I could unscrew tight connections in small areas. These are cool and I will order a pair. Thanks!

Business up front, party in the back, huh? :smokin:

Tafford, huh? I'lll look it up.

I saw the gripsters advertised in a nursing catalog just last night. How ironic

I'm on a mission to find my lost tool. Everyone at work always borrowed it so I think it grew legs and walked away.

I am addicted to this post and have spent WAY too much time trying to find these things for you. I found this page

The one second to the bottom.... the debakey one... I don't think these are scissors as well, but is that the shape of the curve at the back of the hemostat you are talking about??

I have spent too much time too. Sounds like a great instrument though.

Is this it?

Yeah, that's the curve/cut out I'm talking about. Mine were a little bit more pronounced but you get the idea.

I'll give you my first born and his college loans if you can actually find a pr for me.:lol2:
