Have you guys heard about Green Smoothies?

I've recently been seeing a lot of nurses carrying weird looking greenish concoctions and they claim to have a lot more energy. Which is very appealing to me since I have veggies and I'm in desperate need of an energy boost during my shifts. I'm always sleepy and groggy for hours after lunch.

Do you guys drink them and what are your recipes? Noticed any changes? How about the whole Superfoods /protein shakes trend (maybe trend only to me)? Do you believe in it and which ones do you swear by?

Yes, if you are wondering, I'm trying to find the lazy man's way to good health. Instead of changing my whole eating habits I want to mix up some powders and have miraculous results! :D

I am a smoothie drinker...been one for about five years now, probably longer. I really started increasing my smoothie intake in the past year.

As far as the "green smoothies" and smoothies with "boosters" and super foods (such as flaxseed) I do drink them. For me, once I started drinking then, my eating habits started to change because when I drink smoothies, I am less hungry, so for me, it changed my appetite, and what I want to eat. It is a great way to supplement your daily diet.

I think the new craze is funny, seen lots of people with green smoothies lately at work but I've been bringing them to work for 3 years and getting all kinds of funny looks...not now though!

I don't add anything "super" to mine though, I use some combination of kale or spinach, cucumber, avocado, trader joes spiriluna juice & water for the liquid, then some fruit usually mango/banana but whatever I have on hand works too (berries, apples, oranges etc). If you want it to fill you up a bit more or add a little protein you can add greek yogurt which I do sometimes as well.

I will also sometimes put all the ingredients together in the blender the night before and then just blend and go in the morning for a time saver
