Graduate Nurse getting into ICU?

Nurses General Nursing

Hey guys,

I have a BBA in Bus, currently in RN program wanting to be CRNA. Can I go directly into ICU? Then apply to a CRNA program? I'm located in TN.

Specializes in Telemetry.

I am an SN, 2 and 1/2 semesters to graduation, but I have spoken to two hospitals that have preceptorships in ICU or Cardiac ICU. They said they would be happy to take me as a graduate student. You gotta love the nursing shortage!!

ps - You might want to consider CICU, you will deal with a lot more equipment that will better prepare you for CRNA school. (I am also considering CRNA)
