GN interviewing for an ICU position, any tips??

by aruray

I sent in an application at one of my city hospitals to work in the ICU floor because I fell in love w/ the place! To my surprise they called me for interview. But I always felt that ICU was intresting and its something that I could do. Anyhow, any tips for the graduate nurse with no experience in critical care expect from this interview? How should I prepare myself for this?

...I've heard this is almost a necessity for any critical care positions (ICU, ER, Step-down). EKG skills. Look into the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN.)

Here is a link that I recently found here on the board:
http://www.icufaqs.org/

Which could provide you with information about the kinds of skills you might need.

Have you checked out the critical care nurses forums on this board?
