What are the major advantages of having a Masters degree as opposed to a Bachelors?

All of the advanced practice specialties require a Master's as the minimum level of academic preparation, so if you want to be a CNS, NP, CNM, or CRNA, you need a graduate degree. Most teaching positions in nursing require at least a Master's. Many nursing management/administration positions require at least a Master's. The MSN opens up a lot of professional opportunties and pathways beyond what you can do with a BSN. Whether or not those options interest you is a v. personal decision.
