FNP Essay Help Please

Hi- I am a new grad (working since 01/2016) currently working in a CVICU.

I am in the process of applying to a FNP program that starts in the spring of 2017. One of the topics I am supposed to address in the admission essay is: "List examples of ways you have advanced nursing in your practice and career."

I feel like I have make contributions to my unit, but I don't know if these count as "advancements" or what advancements exactly mean in this situation. I am wondering I was hoping someone can offer some examples of what I could talk about with the 6 months of ICU experience I do have.

I don't want anyone to think I am expecting to have my essay written for me! I just need a little help!!

Are you on any professional or workplace committees? If not, can you join a committee that help supports evidence based practice or improves patient care?

If you don't have any specific roles on committees etc, think about some ways your practice has advanced nursing. Like the things you do every day as a nurse that help advance the profession.

I see this question as having multiple ways to answer. There is no list of things that "count" as advancements. If you deem something as such, and explain why, that is what they want to see. Just a thought.
