hello nurses,

i just moved to MD from CA and received my license via endorsement 2 days ago. however, my license expires in just few months! my question is, what do i need to do to renew my license. this would be my first renewal. do I need CE's? where do i find info needed for smooth renewal application? i searched MBON website but was not very helpful at all. thank you!

Specializes in Dialysis.

It should be spelled out on the website. If not, since you will be working in MD ask your employer and coworkers. But again, look over that website thoroughly

Specializes in Emergency Nursing, Pediatrics.

If it's not clear on the website the next step would be to call the MBON..

In my experience with endorsement, I usually get a temporary license first which is then followed up with a permanent license a few months later. I did not have to do anything, it just seems to be the way it is done. My home nursing state is Maryland so I can't speak specifically to their process, but in several other states where I hold endorsement, that has been the case.

Where in MD are you? Honestly with MD's BON, the best bet is to go down to the office in person. It's in Baltimore.
